Day One

Today marks the first day of training for the 2010 Denver Rock and Roll Marathon.  http://denver.competitor.com/

The training did not even start with running, but cross training.  This was a good thing too, because it was pouring rain outside.  I am having some aches here and there and am thinking about seeing a chiropractor as I get started.  I also have to go back to really watching the diet, so this last week binged a bit on desserts and things that will off the menu for a while. This will be a long, challenging journey, but these are the ones that are worth it.

Everyone I know is training for something, and there is comfort in this sense of community.  I am very blessed to have friends who share a passion for fitness, whether it is running, triathlons, or some other sport.  It now comes down to tightly managing my schedule and meeting all my other commitments as a father, employee, and friend.

I am excited and ready to go.
